weapon_flamethrower is the entity name for the devastating flamethrower weapon found in SMOD.

Primary Fire: Fires a stream of fire that incinerates most anything in its path.

Secondary Fire: None.

Note: fire_dmgbase is used by the weapon, but only for player-received damage.


  • weapon_flamethrower_damage <integer> ( Default: 1 )
    Sets the initial damage of the flamethrower's flame.
  • weapon_flamethrower_dynamiclight <boolean> ( Default: 0 )
    When enabled, the flamethrower's stream emits dynamic lighting.
  • weapon_flamethrower_glow <boolean> ( Default: 1 )
    The flamethrower's stream is temporarily enveloped in a large orange glow as it spurts out. With this variable is off, a lower quality effect is used.
  • weapon_flamethrower_heatwave <boolean> ( Default: 0 )
    When enabled, the flamethrower's stream distorts the look of its environment.
  • weapon_flamethrower_length <float> ( Default: 800 )
    Sets how far the flamethrower's stream can reach.
  • weapon_flamethrower_maxfuel <float> ( Default: 300 )
    Sets the maximum amount of fuel for the flamethrower.
  • weapon_flamethrower_recharge_rate <float> ( Default: 5 )
    Sets the rate at which the flamethrower's fuel supply recharges. Lower is faster.
  • weapon_flamethrower_recharge_useammo <boolean> ( Default: 0 )
    When enabled, the flamethrower will not recharge its fuel supply.


  • targetname <string>
    Assigns the entity a targetname, used by other entities to refer to this entity. Can be shared by other entities.
  • origin <X Y Z>
    Sets the position of the entity within the world. See Coordinates.
  • angle <X Y Z>
    Sets the angular positioning (Pitch, Yaw, Roll) of the entity.
  • model <string>
    Sets the model of the entity.
  • fademindist <float>
    Sets the distance at which the entity model starts to fade. (0 : use fademaxdist)
  • fademaxdist <float>
    Sets the maximum distance at which the entity model is visible. (0 : don't fade out)
  • fadescale <float>
    The scale factor that gives some control over fading. Using 0 turns off the forced fade values.


Except where noted, flags are OFF by default.

  • 1 : Start constrained. (Prevents model movement)
  • 2 : Reserve for NPC.
  • 4 : Not throwable by the Gravity Gun.
