Description

weapon_stcannon is the entity name for the portable strider cannon weapon found in SMOD.

Primary Fire: Fires a thin blue beam at the target area as the gun emits a loud whirring sound. Once charged, an explosion of dark energy hits the target of the beam, in most cases dissolving it and most everything near it (including normally-indestructible props, friendly NPCs, yourself, and other vital objects).

Secondary Fire: Charges the gun to fire a large core of dark energy. If the core passes close enough to an NPC, a stream of energy will sap their health. Uncharged cores do about 15 points of damage on impact; fully charged cores upwards of 200-300.

Convars

  • weapon_stcannon_bfgsprite <string> ( Default: effects/ar2_altfire1 )
    Sets the sprite effect used by the strider cannon's alternate fire.
  • weapon_stcannon_chargespeed <float> ( Default: 0.05 )
    Sets how fast the strider cannon charges up. Lower is faster.

Keyvalues

  • targetname <string>
    Assigns the entity a targetname, used by other entities to refer to this entity. Can be shared by other entities.
  • origin <X Y Z>
    Sets the position of the entity within the world. See Coordinates.
  • angle <X Y Z>
    Sets the angular positioning (Pitch, Yaw, Roll) of the entity.
  • model <string>
    Sets the model of the entity.
  • fademindist <float>
    Sets the distance at which the entity model starts to fade. (0 : use fademaxdist)
  • fademaxdist <float>
    Sets the maximum distance at which the entity model is visible. (0 : don't fade out)
  • fadescale <float>
    The scale factor that gives some control over fading. Using 0 turns off the forced fade values.

Flags

Except where noted, flags are OFF by default.

  • 1 : Start constrained. (Prevents model movement)
  • 2 : Reserve for NPC.
  • 4 : Not throwable by the Gravity Gun.
